Christchurch-based Tait Trainer Andrew McTaggart recently spent time working alongside a fire-fighting customer in Australia.
Tait public safety customers and Tait people are working together for a better, smarter and safer world.
Christchurch-based Tait Trainer Andrew McTaggart recently traveled to work alongside a fire-fighting customer in Australia.
Andrew met with the customer’s own Replacement Radio Network project team and the Learning and Development department in order to help develop training material which would best meet their needs.
“As part of the visit, we also organized a trip to a fire station where I could look at the actual vehicles the radios would be fitted into and talk with firefighters about how they would operate the radios during a real brigade call-out,” says Andrew.
“We went through the entire scenario – starting with the initial 000 fire emergency call; right through to battling the blaze.
“This helped us to understand how they worked, and then customize the training to use terminology they would be familiar with. We could also better focus on the features and operation of the equipment that was most important to them.”
Working with the organization’s Learning and Development department means that future training from Tait will be tailored to the processes and procedures already in place. “It’s important that we listen and learn from the customer to ensure we integrate training in the best possible way.”
